Many DX loggings reported by Anker Petersen were made in Vejers Strand, the venue of the DX Camp dedicated to the 50th anniversary of Danish Shortwave Club International (DSWCI). DXers from seven countries gathered there in early May. ***LW/MW BELARUS Engineers in Kalodzicy started reactivation work on the MW tx; it will operate on 873 kHz. (open_dx — Sergey Alekseychik, Hrodna, Belarus) EGYPT(?) 711, broadcast in Arabic, presumed Youth and Sports px from Egypt, 02 May, 0103, talk. Symphonic music at 0108, followed by talk again. Faded off at 0112. Too melancholic for youth/sports, in my opinion. (Dmitry Mezin, Kazan, Russia) RUSSIA Just received through open_dx mailinglist: 10 March 2006 Relay of Narodnoye Radio launched in a test mode on 1107 kHz, with 50 kW power. Broadcasting is intended to the city of Samara and Samara oblast. Broadcast times: 0900-1300, 1500-2000. http://www.ortpc-samara.ru/index.html?id=about&item=news (Time specified above is obviously local winter time, that is UTC+4h. Therefore it should be converted to: 0500-0900, 1100-1600 in winter 0400-0800, 1000-1500 in summer (Dmitry Mezin, Kazan, Russia) 1512, Radiostantsiya Yunost, 22 Apr, 1401, SINPO 15331. Looks like this relay in Ibresi is still active. (Dmitry Mezin, Kazan, Russia) UKRAINE According to my info, UR2 (Promin) is relayed via Lviv since 1 May. Frequency is 549 kHz. Can anybody hear it? (open_dx — Alexander Yegorov, Kyiv, Ukraine) Oh, it answers the question that bothered me — about the 4th carrier on 549 kHz. By the way, it was already active on 24 April. That morning I measured the carrier differences relative to tx in Mykolayiv (it is the nearest to me) and got the following results: Brovary: 0.17 Hz Vinnitsa: 0.29 Hz New one: 0.03 Hz (open_dx — Yaroslav Derevyagin, Odessa, Ukraine) Reception of Promin became better here, but there's still co-channel QRM from Radio PMR (Pridnestrovye). (open_dx — Vyacheslav Oleinik, Chisinau, Moldova) UNIDENTIFIED I observe the weak whistle, caused presumably by another carrier, on 1035 kHz. The frequency is unstable; during the last two weeks I find it in the 1036..1037 kHz slot. This is not a local interference, because it's not heard in the daytime, and is subject to fading at night. The carrier obviously is modulated by speech signal, but, due to interference I didn't manage to clearly detect it yet. Sounds like a spur. Azimuth difference with Tartu Family Radio is +160 degrees, therefore the second carrier might come from Cyprus, Egypt, or somewhere else in the Middle East. Definitely not parallel to neither Syria nor Cyprus (990 and 1098 kHz). (open_dx — Yaroslav Derevyagin, Odessa, Ukraine) ***SW ARGENTINA 6214.1 2255-2310 ARG 07-05 R Baluarte, Puerto Iguazu Portuguese talks, hymns 14232 (Anker Petersen, Denmark, in DX Camp in Vejers Strand) 15345 RAE, heard May 12, at 2020-2045 UT, with tango's px (very nice ones !). I guess transmission starts at 0100 and lasts until 0500. (open_dx — Alexander Yegorov, Kyiv, Ukraine) During several mornings, checked the frequency at 0400, but no joy at all. I used Sony 7600 with a telescopic antenna. (open_dx — Yuri Dymbovskiy, Riga, Latvia) I managed to catch RHC on Degen's telescopic antenna on 30 Apr at 04xx-0500. Very loud signal on 6000 kHz.
